Parviso vs TechieCV: Keyword Gap Check or Human CV Review? (2026)

By Rachid Jaada, founder of Parviso

These two tools solve different problems. Parviso vs TechieCV is not a straight rivalry — one is an automated keyword gap and ATS check, the other is a human-led CV writing service for tech roles. Whether you need one, the other, or both depends on where you are in your job search.

Disclosure: I build Parviso. Everything said about TechieCV comes from its own website, linked below.

What Each Tool Actually Does

Parviso is an automated scanner. You upload your CV and paste a job posting, and Parviso parses both documents in about a minute. It returns a fit verdict — Strong fit, Possible fit, Long shot, or Blocked — a ranked list of requirement gaps with quotes from both your CV and the posting as evidence, and a plain-text "What the ATS sees" preview showing exactly what an applicant tracking system (ATS) would receive. No account is required. Your CV is read in memory and discarded when the check ends — it is never stored. Parviso’s analysis runs in the EU and it works in 8 languages.

TechieCV is a human service. It is run by a founder who is a former Google recruiter, with a focus on software engineering, data science, IT, product management, and programme management roles. You upload a PDF, DOC, or DOCX file under 5 MB, and the site says the resume is reviewed personally. The free review scores your CV's sections and content and lists what to improve, with the site stating delivery within 12 hours. Paid packages are full rewrites described as ATS-compatible, with revisions handled via Google Docs comments.

These are different categories of tool. Parviso tells you how well your existing CV matches a specific posting. TechieCV offers a human review of the CV itself.

When Parviso Fits

Use Parviso when you have a specific posting in front of you and want to know whether your CV is aligned with it before you apply.

It is most useful when:

  • You are applying to multiple roles and want to prioritise where to spend time tailoring your CV
  • You want to see the plain-text ATS preview — what the screening system actually reads, stripped of formatting, columns, and graphics
  • You need a fast check with no account and no data stored
  • The posting is in a language other than English — Parviso supports 8 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Polish

The gap list is specific. It quotes the requirement from the posting and the matching or missing evidence from your CV. That makes it actionable: you either have the evidence and need to surface it better, or you do not have it and need to decide whether to apply or address the gap honestly.

A note on regulated professions: if a posting names a licence, registration or language level, check it yourself against your own situation. Degree requirements are often negotiable with direct experience, but enforced in regulated professions.

When TechieCV Fits

Use TechieCV when the problem is the CV itself, not the match to a specific posting.

It is most useful when:

  • You are early in a tech job search and have not had your CV reviewed by anyone in the industry
  • You want feedback from someone who has screened CVs at a major tech company
  • Your CV needs a full rewrite rather than targeted edits
  • You are applying to software engineering, data science, IT, product, or programme management roles and want a specialist perspective

The free review gives you a scored assessment and a list of improvements. The paid packages go further with a full rewrite and revision rounds.

How to Use Both Together

The two can work together, and the order matters.

Start with TechieCV if your CV needs structural work. Get the free review, understand what is weak, and either act on the feedback yourself or use a paid package for a rewrite. Once you have a strong baseline CV, move to Parviso.

Then, for each role you apply to, run a Parviso check. Paste the posting, upload your updated CV, and review the gap list. You may find that a skill you have is buried in a bullet that does not match the posting's phrasing. You may find a genuine gap you need to address or acknowledge. Either way, you apply with a clear picture of where you stand.

The practical workflow is straightforward: TechieCV improves the document; Parviso aligns it to each specific posting.

Closing a Keyword Gap Honestly

When Parviso flags a gap, you have three options.

Surface existing evidence. If you have the skill but have not mentioned it, add it. A posting that requires "experience with CI/CD pipelines" and a CV that mentions "automated deployments using Jenkins" is a gap in phrasing, not in experience. Rewrite the bullet to match the language of the posting.

Acknowledge a partial match. If you have adjacent experience but not an exact match, say so in a cover letter. A posting that asks for five years of Kubernetes experience and a CV that shows two years of container orchestration is a real gap — but one worth explaining rather than hiding.

Decide not to apply. If the gap is a hard requirement — a specific licence, a mandatory language level, a regulated qualification — applying without addressing it wastes your time and the hiring team's.

FAQs

Is Parviso free to use?

The complete scan is free. No card and no account are required. You can create a free account if you want to keep 90 days of scan history — see parviso.app/pricing for details.

Does Parviso store my CV?

No. Your CV is read in memory and discarded when the check ends — it is never stored. Its analysis runs in the EU. See parviso.app/privacy for the full data handling policy.

Is TechieCV's free review genuinely free?

TechieCV's site states that the free review is personal, scored, and delivered within 12 hours. Full rewrites are paid packages. Check the site for current availability and any conditions.

Can I use Parviso for non-tech roles?

Yes. Parviso is not limited to tech roles and works across any role and industry. TechieCV is specifically focused on tech roles — software engineering, data science, IT, product and programme management — so the human review there is most relevant if you are targeting those sectors.
